It's in the air: O'Fallon Wireless service offers free ride to new surfers

Network 1 wireless service connects the region, even if it's not on your wi-fi menu

January 21, 2008 --- The new Network 1 wireless internet service in O'Fallon has its first 100 subscribers. Its entry into the information superhighway is right on schedule.

Called O'Fallon Wireless, the service is not visible on the wi-fi menu on the general public's wireless computers. But you don't have to see it to believe it.

"The only way you'll see it on your wi-fi menu is if you subscribe with us," said Network 1 vice president Mark O'Neal. "So some people who aren't subscribers don't believe our service is there. But it is!"

To make believers out of everyone in O'Fallon, Network 1 is giving the public a 30-day, free trial subscription with O'Fallon Wireless. "We're showing people that this is the top-flight wireless service they should be using," O'Neal said. "And there are no strings attached!"

The public may sign up for the free offer at www.ofallonwireless.com. You do not have to make any commitments if you sign up. There are no contracts and no cancellation fees.

O'Fallon Wireless, powered by Network 1, was created to provide a cost-efficient alternative to the residents and businesses of O'Fallon. It also serves the City of O'Fallon. O'Fallon is the first municipality in the area, and among the first in the country, to implement a wireless network.

Network 1 recently announced the launch of Phase 2 of the O'Fallon Wireless project. The wireless network is scheduled to go live south of Interstate Highway 70 in O'Fallon on Feb. 1, 2008. It already serves north O'Fallon, which includes areas north of I-70.

New subscribers also will receive their first month of service free upon activation. Three packages, all based on connectivity speeds from 1 mg to 6 mg, are available ranging from $19.95 to $34.95 per month.

The Network 1 management team has been in the communications and technology industry for more than 15 years. Its engineers and executive management have worked for some of the largest telecom companies in the world. O'Fallon Wireless, powered by Network 1, combines an easy-to-install, low cost service with high quality, proven technology.
